11:31 am - SnBProv new location tonight
Hi all,

This week we're going to try having SnB at the AS220 labs in the Mercantile Block.

This is a completely separate building from the main AS220 building you are probably familiar with and is some streets away. Specifically, the entrance is on Lucie Way, which runs parallel to Washington Street off of Mathewson (behind Local 121). Here is some more information about the location.

Again, this is not the main AS220 building where there are shows and things, nor is it the building at 95 Mathewson Street, although it is right next to the latter. If necessary, you can call me at 401-419-0367 -- I am planning to be there at 6:30 pm.

I gather they are very excited to have us and I am looking forward to knitting there! Thanks to katrinkles for putting this together and for clarifying to me where the building is exactly.

They don't have food at this location, but there are a number of good restaurants nearby -- I have heard recommendations for 'Viva Mexico' just down the street I think, and I will probably try that.

Hope to see you tonight!

07:06 pm - Wednesday at the Bagel Gourmet Cafe
This week we're once again at the Bagel Gourmet Cafe inside the Brown Medical Education Building at the corner of Ship and Richmond Streets in the Jewelry district. (This isn't either of the locations on the East Side, obviously.) I'll get there around 6:30 pm.

In addition to bagels they have Mexican food and sandwiches.

As always, crafters of all descriptions and experience levels are welcomed, and there aren't any dues or anything like that.

06:17 pm - Wednesday at AS220
Since it seems that many of the regular SnBProv folks will be coming to my CD release party on Wednesday, I think we'll just try moving SnB there altogether.

The doors for the show won't open until 8 pm, but if people want to meet sooner, there is actually a decent amount of seating in the bar area of AS220 -- plus dinner is available from AS220 Foo(d), which in my opinion is generally pretty tasty. You can see their menu here..

If you want to stick around for the show, here is the information about it:
Wednesday December 7 - PROVIDENCE CD RELEASE PARTY
WHEN: 8 pm
WHERE: AS220, 115 Empire Street, Providence, RI
COVER: $5

The K.C. Moaners, the Smile Makers, and the Sentimental Favorites will help me and the Running Commentary celebrate the release of my new CD. Kickstarter donors get in free.

People who have not heard my music can can listen to it here.
Knitting or other crafting at the show is welcomed.

Hope to see you Wednesday if not sooner.

Next week things should be back to normal and I think we'll meet at the Bagel Gourmet Cafe again, unless people would prefer to go somewhere else.

07:53 am - Knitsgiving
Continuing a tradition started last year, some of us are going to have pre-Thanksgiving dinner at Gregg's on North Main Street tomorrow (Wednesday November 21). We'll meet there at 6:30 pm though some people may get there sooner. If you're interested in joining us, let me know so I can make a reservation.

Next week we should be back at the Bagel Gourmet Cafe as usual.

10:02 am - This week at Bagel Gourmet in the Jewelry District
This week we're going to try a new place that sounds like it's worth checking out. We'll try Bagel Gourmet inside the Brown Medical Education Building at the corner of Ship and Richmond Streets in the Jewelry district. (This isn't either of the locations on the East Side, obviously.)

In addition to bagels they have Mexican and other sorts of food. There's an article about it in a recent issue of the Brown Daily Herald.

It sounds like some people will get there at 5 pm -- I'll probably get there at 6:30 pm. Bagel Gourmet is open until 10 pm.

Unfortunately I won't be able to make it this week, but those of you who have been coming to SnBProv for a while may be interested to know that Susan Pracht is in town from Germany and plans to attend!

11:45 pm - Wednesday (this week) at Three Sisters/Lippitt Park
This week we're going to try a new location. We'll meet by the Lippitt Park farmer's market around 6:30 pm -- we'll be at the corner where Hope Street intersects Blackstone Boulevard, in Providence just south of the Pawtucket border.

If possible, bring a chair. (I will try to bring one or two extras in case people can't bring their own chair or forget to.)

When it gets dark or people get hungry we will cross Hope Street and have dinner and/or delicious ice cream at Three Sisters at 1074 Hope Street in Providence.

As always, crafters of all descriptions and experience levels are welcomed, and there aren't any dues or anything like that.

If you have trouble finding us and wonder what's going on, I can be reached at 401-419-0367.

Hope to see you there!

09:56 am - Wednesday at Grant's Park downtown
Two weeks ago some of our friends won their first game of bocce this season, and this week will be their last game until next year, I believe. (They are on the WRNI team which is named This American Bocce.) It's been nice knitting outside and cheering them on, so we're going to do it again this week, Wednesday August 24 at 6:30 pm!

- If weather is good, we'll meet at Grant's Park (opposite Tazza Caffe at 250 Westminster Street downtown) and knit, talk, and watch people play bocce.

- If the weather's bad we'll meet nearby at Small Point Cafe, 230 Westminster Street in Providence.

As always, crafters of all descriptions and experience levels are welcomed, and there aren't any dues or anything like that.

If you have trouble finding us and wonder what's going on, I can be reached at 401-419-0367.

09:46 am - No SnB this week
It sounds like most of the SnBProv regulars will be unable to come to SnB this week, so I think we will just skip it and reconvene next week.

However, if you are free on Wednesday and want to organize an SnB meetup of your own, I encourage you to do so!

I'm not sure if we'll meet downtown again next week or if we'll return to the mall. If you have an opinion on this, let me know.

10:10 pm - SnB downtown this week
Hi all,

Last week's experiment was a success, so we're going to try it again! The options are:

- If weather is good, we'll meet at Grant's Park (opposite Tazza Caffe at 250 Westminster Street downtown) and knit, talk, and watch people play bocce.

- If the weather's bad will meet nearby at Small Point Cafe, 230 Westminster Street in Providence. They appeared to be open well after 8 pm last week.

As always, crafters of all descriptions and experience levels are welcomed, and there aren't any dues or anything like that.

10:39 am - SnB tonight downtown
Weather permitting, let's try knitting outside at Grant's Park, the lot next to Tazza where they show movies sometimes. There will be some people (including some knitters I think) playing in the bocce league and I think it should be nice. If you can bring a chair, that's probably not a bad idea, but if you can't, there's also a green divider surrounding the park which can be used as a bench. We'll meet at 6:30 pm, though it sounds like some people may be there earlier.

If the weather turns bad, we can move to Tazza or to Small Point Cafe. (If you need to, you can call or page me at 401-419-0367 to find out what's going on.) The addresses are:

* Tazza Caffe, 250 Westminster Street, Providence, RI 02907 (open until midnight)

* Small Point Cafe, 230 Westminster Street, Providence, RI 02907 (open until either 8 or 9 pm, there is some controversy on this point)

As always, crafters of all descriptions and experience levels are welcomed, and there aren't any dues or anything like that.

I have a show that night at AS220 so I will have to leave a bit before 8 pm. If anyone's interested in seeing it, the posted start time is 8:30 pm (so I think it will actually start at 9 pm) and I am on first. There's a $6 cover charge. The other acts are POW!!, the Dum Dums, Map Light, and Andre Harner.

Hope to see you at Grant's Park!

Crafters of all kinds and experience levels are welcomed, and there are no membership dues or anything of that sort.

There has been talk of knitting outdoors, so it's possible that we may head down to Waterplace Park at some point. If so, we will try to leave word with the cashiers. If you need to, you can reach me at 401-419-0367.

09:43 am - SnB Tonight at Brown Street Park
It looks like the weather will be nice this evening, and people have been talking about how it would be nice to meet outdoors again, so I am proposing for tonight meeting at the Brown Street Park on the East Side. The park is at the corner of Brown Street & Creighton Street and is behind Hope High School.

There will be music there (provided by the Double Decker Dance Band, the afro-beat band I'm a member of, though because of work I won't be able to play for at least the first part of the show) from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm. [more information about the show]

If you want food, the RISD food truck will be there and it looks like Whole Foods will be selling some food also. [the food truck's menu]

We probably have to bring our own chairs, and in case SnB goes to after sundown (8:30 or 9ish) then you might also want to bring a light source.

Hope to see you there!

10:31 am - Tonight at Eskimo King
Hi all,

As a special one-night thing, we'll be meeting at Eskimo King in Swansea (a 15-20 minute drive) tonight for some delicious ice cream. Here is their website.

The address is 26 Market Street, Swansea, MA 02777. It's at the intersection of routes 6 and 136. We'll be sitting outside.

We'll meet there at around 6:30 pm and stay there at least until it gets dark. Some of us have headlamps, or are working on simple products that don't need much light, so we may stay later!

Hope to see you there! Next week we will be back at the mall.
