Tomorrow: Anniversary party at Greggs

This week we'll take a break from SnB as usual and will instead be celebrating SnBProv's ninth birthday. The details are:

• Where: Gregg's, 1303 North Main Street, Providence, RI
• When: Wednesday May 22, 6:30 pm (people may meet for drinks earlier)

If you plan to come, please let me know so I'll have a reasonable idea of how big a reservation to make. (I'll call the reservation in earlier that day.)

If you haven't come to SnB in a while, this is a perfect time to catch up with everyone, and if you've never been to SnB, this is a great way to get to know everyone. What I'm saying is: You should come to this.

Tomorrow at Lippett Park/Three Sisters

With the turn of the seasons, and a nice forecast in the offing, we're going to try meeting outside for the first time this year!

You should be able to find us at Lippett Park, which is on Hope Street in Providence near the Pawtucket border. When it gets dark, or if the weather looks bad, we will move to Three Sisters, which is across the street from Lippett Park at 1074 Hope Street.

There is on-street parking, and if we end up at Three Sisters there is also a parking lot behind the building. I plan to get there around 6:30 pm.

I think we'll probably keep meeting here through the summer, so unless I post otherwise, assume that that's the case. You can always check the Facebook group for last-minute updates.

As always, crafters of all descriptions and experience levels are welcomed, and there aren't any dues or anything like that.

No SnB this week; back to normal next week

Most or all of the regulars are otherwise occupied this week, so it looks like we'll be skipping SnB.

Next week things should be back to normal and we will be meeting at Bagel Gourmet Cafe on Richmond Street in Providence as usual.

You can check out the SnBProv Facebook page to see if there's any new discussion on either of these points.

Skipping SnB this week -- back next week

Hi all,

Our normal venue, Bagel Gourmet Cafe, is closing earlier today (at 4 pm), so we're going to skip SnB tonight. We'll be back to the normal schedule next week, so I hope we'll see you then!

Information about our normal schedule can be found here.

Tonight, and every Wednesday unless I post otherwise, we'll be at the Bagel Gourmet Cafe inside the Brown Medical Education Building at the corner of Ship and Richmond Streets in the Jewelry district. I'll plan to get there around 6:30 pm.

In addition to bagels they have Mexican food, sandwiches, and pizzas.

As always, crafters of all descriptions and experience levels are welcomed, and there aren't any dues or anything like that.

Hope to see you there!

Hi all,

Pretty much all of the regulars have a conflict with SnB this week, so we'll skip it.
Knitsgiving next week

Continuing a tradition started in 2010, some of us are going to have pre-Thanksgiving dinner at Gregg's on North Main Street next week (Wednesday November 21). I'll get there at 6:30 pm though some people may get there sooner for drinks. If you're interested in joining us, let me know so I can make a reservation.

The address is 1303 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904. The menu is online at https://greggsusa.com/menu .

If you want to see who else is going and when other people plan to get there, I recommend the Facebook group: http://www.facebook.com/groups/17629716707/

Next week we should be back at the Bagel Gourmet Cafe as usual.

(Note: we're not planning on door prizes or anything like that; that normally happens at the SnB anniversary party, which isn't until the spring.)

Bagel Gourmet Cafe on Wednesday

With the days getting shorter, meeting outside isn't working as well, so this week we'll be back at the Bagel Gourmet Cafe inside the Brown Medical Education Building at the corner of Ship and Richmond Streets in the Jewelry district. I'll plan to get there around 6:30 pm.

In addition to bagels they have Mexican food, sandwiches, and pizzas.

As always, crafters of all descriptions and experience levels are welcomed, and there aren't any dues or anything like that.

If there's another place people want to suggest meeting at until next summer then feel free to comment or otherwise contact me. Otherwise, we will plan to continue meeting at Bagel Gourmet Cafe.

This week at Lippett Park/Three Sisters

This week we'll try meeting again at Lippett Park, which is on Hope Street in Providence near the Pawtucket border. When it gets dark, or if the weather looks bad, we will move to Three Sisters, which is across the street from Lippett Park at 1074 Hope Street.

There is a farmer's market in the park until 6 pm, so some of you may wish to arrive early and do some shopping. I will probably get there around 6:30 pm. You may wish to bring a chair to sit outside. (I will try to have one or two extra chairs in my car.)

There is on-street parking, and if we end up at Three Sisters there is also a parking lot behind the building.

I think we'll probably keep meeting here through the summer, so unless I post otherwise, assume that that's the case. You can always check the Facebook group for last-minute updates.

As always, crafters of all descriptions and experience levels are welcomed, and there aren't any dues or anything like that.
I'll also mention that after SnB this week, some people are planning to head over to Pecha Kucha Night downtown, so that's an option if you're interested!

In East Providence this week

Hi all,

We're not able to meet at AS220 Labs this week, unfortunately. However, Erin noticed that Superchief Trio has an outdoors show from 6:30-8 pm on Wednesday in East Providence so we thought it could be fun to have it there.

http://www.eventkeeper.com/code/events.cfm?curOrg=EPPLS&fb_source=message#2782278

The location is:

* Weaver Library, 41 Grove Avenue, East Providence, RI

The forecast looks good (knock on wood) so I am hopeful that this will work out.

Hope to see you there! If anyone needs a ride over, let me know.

I'm not sure yet where we will meet next week -- AS220 Labs is an option but it seems like it might be a good idea for us to find a new location in general. If anyone has any suggestions, let me know.

Back at AS220 Labs on Wednesday

On Wednesday this week we're back to AS220 Labs in the Mercantile Block at 6:30 pm.

To get there, go to the corner of Mathewson and Washington Streets downtown, walk east on Mathewson past Local 121 and then past the AS220 gallery at 95 Mathewson. There will be a small alley named Lucie Way on your left. Go down Lucie Way, and you'll find AS220 Labs around halfway down, right after the Mexican restaurant.

The doors may be locked. If so, ring the doorbell to the left of the doors and we will come and let you in.

As always, crafters of all descriptions and experience levels are welcomed, and there aren't any dues or anything like that.

A note about parking
There isn't any parking for AS220 Labs specifically, but depending on what else is going on downtown, you may be able to find street parking. Otherwise, I usually use the parking lot on Fountain Street between Greene and Empire (next to the Providence Public Library), which has parking for $5.

Tomorrow at Greggs

Tomorrow we're celebrating SnBProv's eighth year of existence at a special dinner at Greggs! Details are:

• Where: Greggs, 1303 North Main Street, Providence, RI
• When: Wednesday May 16, 6:30 pm (people may meet for drinks earlier)

The menus are online here.

If you haven't come to SnB in a while, this is a perfect time to catch up with everyone, and if you've never been to SnB, this is a great way to get to know everyone.

As I recall Greggs doesn't like to split up checks, so I recommend bringing some cash.

Here's the headcount I've got. If you have any updates, or if I missed anyone, then let me know and I will update the list. (And if you decide to come at the last minute, that is fine -- we will squeeze you in.)

Confirmed (14 + Gavin)
Andrew
Danielle
Diana
Emily
Erin
Jake
Jeanine & Gavin
Kate H.
Katie
Katy W.
Kerrilynn
Liz
Marva
Sarah

Maybes (4)
Ashley & Brian
Daved
Jillian

I'll call in the reservation tomorrow afternoon.

Working on one last little door prize!

SnBProv anniversary next week!

Next week we'll take a break from SnB as usual and will instead be celebrating SnBProv's eighth birthday. The details are:

• Where: Gregg's, 1303 North Main Street, Providence, RI
• When: Wednesday May 16, 6:30 pm (people may meet for drinks earlier)

If you plan to come, please let me know so I'll have a reasonable idea of how big a reservation to make. (I'll call the reservation in earlier that day.)

If you haven't come to SnB in a while, this is a perfect time to catch up with everyone, and if you've never been to SnB, this is a great way to get to know everyone. What I'm saying is: You should come to this.

Tonight at AS220 Labs

Tonight we'll be back at the AS220 labs in the Mercantile Block at 6:30 pm. This will be our meeting place unless otherwise noted.

To get there, go to the corner of Mathewson and Washington Streets downtown, walk east on Mathewson past Local 121 and then past the AS220 gallery at 95 Mathewson Street. There will be a small alley named Lucie Way on your left. Go down Lucie Way and AS220 Labs is about halfway down, right after the Mexican restaurant. More information about the location can be found on AS220's website.

I'm not sure if we'll be upstairs or downstairs this week, so if you don't see anyone through the door don't worry. Just ring the bell or call me at 401-419-0367 and someone will let you in.

We welcome crafters of all types and experience levels.

SnBProv new location tonight

Hi all,

This week we're going to try having SnB at the AS220 labs in the Mercantile Block.

This is a completely separate building from the main AS220 building you are probably familiar with and is some streets away. Specifically, the entrance is on Lucie Way, which runs parallel to Washington Street off of Mathewson (behind Local 121). Here is some more information about the location.

Again, this is not the main AS220 building where there are shows and things, nor is it the building at 95 Mathewson Street, although it is right next to the latter. If necessary, you can call me at 401-419-0367 -- I am planning to be there at 6:30 pm.

I gather they are very excited to have us and I am looking forward to knitting there! Thanks to katrinkles for putting this together and for clarifying to me where the building is exactly.

They don't have food at this location, but there are a number of good restaurants nearby -- I have heard recommendations for 'Viva Mexico' just down the street I think, and I will probably try that.

Hope to see you tonight!

Wednesday at the Bagel Gourmet Cafe

This week we're once again at the Bagel Gourmet Cafe inside the Brown Medical Education Building at the corner of Ship and Richmond Streets in the Jewelry district. (This isn't either of the locations on the East Side, obviously.) I'll get there around 6:30 pm.

In addition to bagels they have Mexican food and sandwiches.

As always, crafters of all descriptions and experience levels are welcomed, and there aren't any dues or anything like that.

Wednesday at AS220

Since it seems that many of the regular SnBProv folks will be coming to my CD release party on Wednesday, I think we'll just try moving SnB there altogether.

The doors for the show won't open until 8 pm, but if people want to meet sooner, there is actually a decent amount of seating in the bar area of AS220 -- plus dinner is available from AS220 Foo(d), which in my opinion is generally pretty tasty. You can see their menu here..

If you want to stick around for the show, here is the information about it:
Wednesday December 7 - PROVIDENCE CD RELEASE PARTY
WHEN: 8 pm
WHERE: AS220, 115 Empire Street, Providence, RI
COVER: $5

The K.C. Moaners, the Smile Makers, and the Sentimental Favorites will help me and the Running Commentary celebrate the release of my new CD. Kickstarter donors get in free.

People who have not heard my music can can listen to it here.
Knitting or other crafting at the show is welcomed.

Hope to see you Wednesday if not sooner.

Next week things should be back to normal and I think we'll meet at the Bagel Gourmet Cafe again, unless people would prefer to go somewhere else.

Continuing a tradition started last year, some of us are going to have pre-Thanksgiving dinner at Gregg's on North Main Street tomorrow (Wednesday November 21). We'll meet there at 6:30 pm though some people may get there sooner. If you're interested in joining us, let me know so I can make a reservation.

Next week we should be back at the Bagel Gourmet Cafe as usual.
